Insights from the first CSA Catapult Investor Summit
We are pleased to have participated in the very first CSA Catapult Investor Summit on May 1st focused on deep tech, bringing together SMEs, industry leaders and investors in one place. It was great to see how interconnected the world of semiconductors is, and how many growth opportunities lie ahead.
A key theme for the event was the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning on all aspects of the design and supply process in the semiconductor industry. AI has changed the way people work, and there is so much more scope for growth if you identify your speciality within the industry.
One of our main highlights were the technology pitches from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including ours presented by co-founder Sam Vinko. During the pitch, Sam spoke about how our Neural Networks help achieve our vision, which is to cut the product development cycle in half by delivering:
- Real time prediction vs Hours of simulation
- AI-Powered models vs Verilog-A Model
- Post silicon data-driven test vs Ad-hoc test
- System level verification vs Bolt-on solutions
The Discovery Platform uses data to train the emulator, creating accurate AI models. These then explore the entire space by identifying areas of interest in parameter space, assessing where potential problems with the design might lie, and providing vital information with dramatically reduced turnaround time.
The panel discussion our Board Chair, Janet Collyer, was part of with Innovate UK and other investors was also very interesting, with a particular focus on how the semiconductor industry is expected to grow 70% (up to $1 trillion) by 2030. This predicted growth shows that there is room for everyone to be involved in the semiconductor industry, with a particular focus on startups. There are endless opportunities ahead and we are ready to serve this growing market.
The Investor Summit provided great networking opportunities as well, and we were pleased to see some of our investors in attendance. We look forward to more events like these, where we can see a new wave of semiconductors in the United Kingdom coming, with next-generation technologies.
